As we transition into a technology based world, so does our healthcare. We now have access to patient portals to quickly send our medical doctor a message, we can refill prescriptions with a click of a button, and we can even get seen for a medical appointment all from the comforts of our couch. Read on to learn why this next era of technology based healthcare is designed BY you FOR you and how we here at [P]rehab can’t wait to help you out.

Age of the Consumer…YOU:

Uber, Airbnb, Netflix, TikTok. While all of these may seem to have no solid string of connection, they actually do. It’s you, the consumer.

Welcome to the “Age of the Consumer” where the consumer (your wants, needs, and demands) is truly the driving force behind all major companies’ decision making. About time right?! Think of the ease of needing to find a place to stay for one night, and boom, you book a quaint Airbnb stay right on your phone. Got a runny nose? No problem, schedule an appointment with your primary care physician from the comfort of your couch. Nothing on TV? Well go ahead and browse one of the dozens of streaming devices that we have these days and surely something will pop up that is of interest to you.

Now more than ever, you the consumer are truly put in the driver’s seat of your entertainment, where you choose to stay, who you decide to interact with, and dare we say it, your health.

Not only can you have an appointment with your primary care physician from your living room, but you can also partake in a group-style spin class or even rehab that nagging shoulder injury you have been dealing with. Wait…rehab your shoulder injury? How? Don’t I have to go to a physical therapy clinic for that?

Welcome to PT in your back pocket.

We Listened, Here’s Our Answer:

That’s right, here at [P]rehab we have listened diligently and have felt the same frustrations as you when dealing with an injury. Long wait times to get in for an evaluation, co-pays that can be unclear or very expensive, lack of quality time with your therapist, heck, some of you may not even have caught your therapist’s name because you saw them once for a total of 10 minutes!

No, we aren’t saying that in-person physical therapy is bad, but what we are saying is that you have options now if you want them. Today’s world is now where we get to make choices about what streaming device we get to use… shouldn’t we be able to make choices about our health too?

Why the [P]rehab App Is Right For You:

You only have so much time in your day, spend it doing something meaningful. That doesn’t mean spending time in a waiting room, sitting on hold on the phone for another appointment request, or waiting to hear your next exercise while your therapist instructs one of their other patients. With the [P]rehab app, we’ve solved all of that by putting you in the driver’s seat of your health.

Shoulder pain? We have a program for that. Neck pain? Yep, we’ve got a program for that as well. Texter’s thumb? You guessed it, we’ve gotcha covered. With dozens of rehab programs, we’ve got you taken care of for whatever life throws your way.

And the fun doesn’t stop there because neither does life. Once that nagging shoulder pain starts to feel better we’ve got prehab programs to help to bulletproof your shoulder, and we’ve got performance programs to get you stronger than before. We’ve got fitness programs, workouts, and assessments to measure your progress like the one below!

You thought we were kidding when I said it’s like having a PT in your back pocket, weren’t you?

Your Needs are Constantly Changing, and So is the [P]rehab App

We recognize that the world is constantly evolving, our bodies are constantly changing as we enter different life phases, and our needs as humans alter, and as a result, the app changes as well. With new programs being released regularly, polls being taken to see what YOU want to see more of, and app upgrades, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t start the app sooner. But don’t just take our word for it

Our latest release? Our Full Body [P]rehab Program is designed with injury prevention for, you guessed it right, your full body! This is a state-of-the-art program designed by Doctor of Physical Therapy who understands the demands our body is placed through and what needs to be done to get you tackling whatever life throws at you.

Check out some of our favorite exercises from our brand-new program below!

Why do we love the above exercises and think they are a great addition to anyone’s fitness routine? The single leg row challenges our balance, our hip hinge movement pattern, and our coordination and helps to strengthen our posterior chain (hamstrings and glutes). This movement pattern is performed more often than you think throughout the day, how do you bend down to grab something that fell onto the floor recently? Probably pretty similar to this.

The side plank is also a staple of our programs and our new Full Body Prehab Program. Why? Because it is a big bang for your buck exercise! With a focus on core strength, shoulder and rotator cuff stability, lateral ankle stability, and neck strength, I mean come on, what’s not to love? And add in a row? Dy-na-mite.

This is your time, our world is revolving around consumer needs and wants, and it should. If you can stream your favorite TV show from the comforts of your living room why shouldn’t you be able to complete your shoulder rehab program from your living room as well?

We’ll just leave this here when you’re ready.
