  • WHY: It is very important to restore normal walking and gait mechanics after surgery. Using a cane you are in control of how much weight to put on your leg. You can use your arm to offload weight. Try to put as much weight through your leg as you can, with more weight each day as you become more comfortable.

 

  • HOW: Follow along with the video for cues. Essentially you want to land with your heel, transition all your weight on your leg, and lift it up rolling onto your toes.
