Y Balance

  • HOW: Set up a โ€˜Yโ€™ using three objects and if youโ€™d like to also perform the posterior (behind) reach, add an additional object directly behind you. While maintaining balance on one leg, reach as far as you can towards each object one-by-one by bending at your hip, knee, and ankle.
 
  • FEEL: You should feel all of the muscles on your leg, especially your hip, thigh, and calf working.
 
  • COMPENSATION: Be sure to focus on maintaining your balance and keeping your ankle stable without letting your heel lift up off the ground if youโ€™re working on ankle dorsiflexion mobility.
